Job Description

Summary

Our team is looking for a highly motivated, trustworthy, and action oriented professional to support our rapidly growing business. In this role, you will support our Custody Operations team in executing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our custody solutions. The ideal candidate will have unwavering persistence for operational excellence in execution and problem solving, while working to continually improve the efficiency and security of Geminis custody systems. The candidate will also communicate and collaborate cross-organizationally with various departments in the company to ensure that our clients assets are secure and their associated needs are met.

This role is required to be in person 5 days a week at our New York City, NY office.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute the companys daily custody operations. This will include multiple times per week trips to various secured facilities 
  • Consistently ensure the end-to-end operations process requirements are met
  • Aid in the management of custody infrastructure which will include interactions with various Operations, Engineering, Risk, and Business Development teams, including:
    • New product or feature launches
    • New asset support
    • System upgrades
  • Support the management of the companys inventory of hardware and some software used to custody Digital Assets
  • Assist in responses to due diligence requests from the companys prospective and existing clients, regulators, and insurers
  • Use and analyze available points of data to monitor digital asset balances and take a metrics driven approach to make informed decisions on the movement of digital assets
  • Execute digital asset movements between various wallets and entities to maintain compliance requirements and meet customer digital asset needs 
  • Support the teams internal and external reporting efforts for the companys management team, regulators, auditors, and risk committees
  • Participate in disaster recovery scenarios to validate physical and digital operations
  • Support in the resolution of customer issues through trouble shooting, critical thinking, and general expertise of the custody solutions. (e.g., identifying and fixing customer issues with digital asset deposits or withdrawals)
  • Deliver and execute work with a clearly developed plan that also enables stakeholders to execute
  • Help train new team members or individuals from partner teams in the execution of core activities for our custody solutions 
  • Help drive initiatives to improve team efficiencies and standardization (e.g., written procedures and policy development)
  • Support on-call efforts through being responsive and available 24/7/365
  • Willingness and ability to work on weekends and holidays (non-remote)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2-4+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • Based in the New York City area
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a security first mindset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage tight deadlines and responsibilities effectively; ability to multitask and work successfully under pressure; ability to communicate and collaborate with various organizational departments across multiple levels; ability to articulate plan with defined problems and definition of done, and execute
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments
  • Strong execution and/or management skills (setting goals, milestones, timelines and driving execution accordingly)
  • Willingness to be in an on-call rotation and support other on-call teams with triaging customer facing issues
  • Willingness to travel and work in various locations and environments with limited notice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong logistics and calendar management skills
  • 2+ years of experience in management consulting, process improvement consulting, or crypto operations
  • Experience with high impact operational execution (e.g., digital asset movement, money movement, trading)
  • Evidence of strong independent planning and execution
  • Experience with data analysis with SQL or databases being a plus
  • Desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $82,500 - $110,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidates compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
